Drop Bottom Furnace

Drop Bottom Furnaces are used where transit time to the quench is very short, in some cases as little as three seconds for thin parts. To accomplish this rapid transfer the furnace is elevated, has an internal hoist, and the load/unload door is on the bottom.

The quench tank is located directly under the furnace. The quench tank, on wheels, is unloaded by moving it out from under the furnace.
